Rooted in Hope. Growing Through Community.

At Lilok Foundation, we believe transformation begins where people are seen, heard, and empowered.

What started in 1993 as a response to the struggles of urban poor communities in Manila has grown into a movement for holistic learning and social change. From creative youth work and leadership training to hands-on farm retreats, we equip individuals and communities to live with dignity, act with courage, and dream beyond poverty. Our journey is shaped by people — their resilience, their stories, and their shared commitment to building a more just world.

History

Lilok Foundation was founded in collaboration with Servants to Asia’s Urban Poor in the year 1993 out of a grassroots movement of urban poor Christian leaders seeking training for justice-oriented community action. Born from their struggle against demolition threats and exclusion from formal theological education, Lilok Foundation became a space for alternative, wholistic, and liberating formation. Over the decades, Lilok Foundation has grown to offer courses, camps, and retreats that continue to empower individuals and communities for wholistic transformation.
